Bethlehem E-Bike Network

Planning phase. An independent plan; nothing is funded or built yet.

Solar-powered stations, about half e-bikes, ride from any station to any other.

Stations

120 planned stations: one at every park, two at bigger parks, and one at every Connect stop. Docks charge e-bikes automatically. Natural or reused materials, water, and restrooms where a park hub has none, and an ADA route to every station.

Fleet

About 50% e-bikes, 20% regular, 15% e-scooters (where state and local rules allow; may start later), 10% mountain bikes and 5% adaptive, cargo and tandem, mixed station by station by demand. Skate gear to borrow by skate parks.

Energy

Solar canopies and on-site batteries, with the grid as backup. Later: wind, geothermal, heat recovery and permitted hydro, with storage, through the planned Energy & Logistics Hub (a separate independent project) under utility rules.

Places

Every park in the service area (two stations at bigger parks), and beside each planned Bethlehem Connect stop (a separate independent plan), where owners agree. General areas only.

Data and privacy

Aggregated, private by default, short retention, never sold. Mileage tracking and app syncs later, opt-in only. Moderated chats.

Path

Pilot of 6–10 stations → Bethlehem → Lehigh Valley → across PA → small EVs, after a legal review.
